The term “ectopic” refers to tissues formed in the wrong place and is most often used to refer to an ectopic pregnancy. Ectopic tissues are full of potential but destined to fail because of where they are implanted. The consequences of ectopic pregnancies, and much reproductive politics in is US, are based on imagined anatomy and fabricated stories. These pieces celebrate the use of imagination of reproductive anatomy, using blown and cut glass to create imaginary organs and tissues contracting and bulging. The piece also asks views to consider multiple ways of considering the word ectopic: to be formed in the wrong place.
